Announcement: Brad Mehldau in Philly

Looks like this Friday I am heading to the city of brotherly love(Philadelphia) to see piano soloist Brad Mehldau perform in at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts located in Philadelphia, PA. Expect full coverage of this event.

In the meantime, feel free to check out my other blogs where I cover his performance here in New York with his jazz trio and check out my list of his recommended recordings if you are unfimilar with his music:

I just want to say thank you for this nice weblog. I really appreciate it. I like the coverages about Brad Mehldau. In Februrary he visits Hamburg (Germany) where I will see his show. I'm very excited about that. Hopefully he will also play a solo concert in europe next time, otherwise I have to visit you in the states :-;

Best regards

Michael (Hamburg, Germany)

That should be a very exciting experience for you. Perhaps you could even put some sound bites from his recordings on the site. Can you do that?

Michael,

Thanks for commenting on my blog, I appreciate it! I was able to see his trio about 2 months ago and I can tell you that you are in for a treat. As far as seeing Brad play solo, I think he will be playing solo in Europe soon. Here is the address to his website where you can see if he is playing solo near you anytime soon. http://www.bradmehldau.com/mehldau/tour/index.html

Due to legal issues, No. For soundbites, it is best to visit his site were you can get soundbites, including songs from his latest album, and you can even get video clips of him performing. His website is truly is a great resource to find out about his music.

Right on his homepage you can hear the title track to his album, "Day is Done", which is a song written by the acclaimed Nick Drake. You can also listen to "Martha My Dear" which is a beatles tune, and "Knives Out" which is a Radiohead tune. Here is a link to his Brad Mehldau's website:
