After speaking with one of the members of the gallery that is displaying this piece, they mentioned that this picture is a painting of a dream or at least based on one.

i really like this one a lot...for some reason this reminds me of one of the posters SVA did for their "Art is..." campaign... look at the one with the boy in the fantasy forest:
